The Challenge

To manage the relocation of production from Australia to a green fields operation managed by a supplier in China. This project was a complex global initiative involving the simultaneous closure of plants in Australia, England and France. TXM managed the whole Australian supply chain transition, plus the set of the China assembly facility for Australia and the UK.

The TXM Response

TXM went beyond just executing the move and assisted the China operation to establish a full lean production system. In Australia processes for ordering and distribution were revamped to enable customer service to be maintained with the extended China supply chain.

The Results

The project was delivered on time and $1m below budget. Improved processes meant that the target for ongoing cost savings was exceeded by $200,000 or 20%.
