Britannia Metal Industries project launched
Victorian Small Business Minister launched TXM project at Britannia Metal Industries
On February 8th the Victorian Small Business Minister, Joe Helper, was present to handover a Victorian Government Grant to Britannia Metal Industries, enabling the company to engage TXM to reduce the order lead times. This will help Britannia to gain a competitive edge in the custom sheet metal market.
Britannia is a long established sheetmetal manufacturer located in Mulgrave in Melbourne, supplying high quality customised metal components to some of Victoria’s leading manufacturers.
The business employs leading edge CNC technology in its plant, but the TXM support will enable the business to improve its processes in order to make better use of these capabilities.
TXM Principal Tim McLean says custom sheetmetal manufacturers such as Britannia are a cornerstone of Victorian Manufacturing.
“These businesses need to become more responsive and more competitive in order to meet the challenge coming from low cost countries such as China. It is great that the leadership at Britannia have recognised this and are prepared to take on the challenge of implementing lean processes to improve their lead time to customers,” says Tim.
